Harrison County Property Records Terms

These terms apply whenever someone uses Harrison County Property Records. Visiting or using its tools means accepting the conditions below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the reference and its linked search features.

1. About This Reference

Harrison County Property Records is operated privately. It summarizes and links to official deed, tax, assessment, and parcel sources concerning Harrison County, West Virginia. It does not hold government files and is not affiliated with a county or state office, court, Clerk, or Assessor.

2. Permitted Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You must not use it or linked results to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person
  • Commit fraud, deed fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act
  • Make a decision covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Copy or republish site material at scale without authorization
  • Disrupt the service or interfere with its security

3. No Consumer Reports

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Neither its content nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. The information may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose governed by that law.

4. No Title, Survey, or Legal Advice

A public-record search does not amount to a title examination, boundary survey, appraisal, or legal opinion. A title company, lawyer, licensed appraiser, or surveyor should be consulted for the work within that professional’s role. Nothing here replaces that review.

5. Outside Services

County and state portals, commercial search providers, and sponsored tools set their own terms, prices, privacy practices, and service schedules. Harrison County Property Records does not control those providers and is not responsible for their content or availability.

6. No Warranty

The reference is offered “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that information is accurate, complete, current, or available, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result.

7. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct or indirect loss, incidental or consequential damages, or special damages arising from use of this reference or an outside resource, including decisions based on a record located through it.

8. Responsibility for Misuse

You agree to protect and reimburse the operators against a claim, demand, or reasonable attorney fee arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

9. Site Materials

The original writing, layout, logo, and design are protected. Linking to a page or quoting a short excerpt with credit is welcome; copying full pages or systematically republishing the material is not permitted.

10. Updates to These Terms

The operators may revise the terms by posting a new version. Continued use after a revision is posted indicates acceptance of that version.

11. West Virginia Law

West Virginia law governs these terms, without applying conflict-of-law rules. The state public-records statute is the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code §29B-1-1 et seq.; it governs records access from public bodies, not the practices of this private reference.

12. Severable Terms

If a court finds one term unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
